Lane Cove Week in Review – 2nd to 8th October 2017

week in review carlile frog

Welcome to our week in review. Lane Cove was again a bit quieter this week due to the school holidays, but Lane Cove came out to party at the Lane Cove Village Fair (and the weather was delightful with spots of rain falling just on wrap up time at 4am).

The Lane Cove Village Fair is Lane Cove Rotary’s major fundraiser for the year. This funds raised from the fair enable Lane Cove Rotary to sponsor many Lane Cove community groups. Thank you to all those hard working Rotarians who were up at 4am this morning working hard to make the day a great success. There was live entertainment, a photo booth, rides, food and market stalls.

Leafy Lane Cove

A Roving Reporter saw this little chap in Farran Street Lane Cove North. We are so lucky to have such fabulous wildlife at our front door.

Crime and Incident Report

Each week we report on crime in Lane Cove. This week the NSW Police announced it is going to amalgamate our nearest police station, North Shore LAC with Harbourside LAC. You can read more about it here.

Barwon and Centennial Road Accident

Yet another accident at this intersection on Saturday night. A driver allegedly ran a red light and took out the front of a car.

Stolen Bike

A Facebook follower would like your help. Her husband’s bicycle was stolen from their apartment’s garage in Lane Cove North either Wednesday or Thursday night. They had only owned the bike for 3 months and saved for months to get it. They have reported the theft to the police but really only want the bike back.
It’s a Giant 2018 Roam 2 in black. If anyone has any information please contact North Shore LAC. You can also report bike theft here.

Vandalism

This week some vandals decided to knock down traffic and street signs on Mowbray Road. You can read more about this here.

Our Cover Photo

Our cover photo is Mr Frog from Carlile Swimming. Did you know that Carlile Swimming is opening a brand new state of the art swimming centre at Lane Cove West? It will have dedicated parking for parents, a parent’s air-conditioned viewing room and the latest in air and water quality. #itcgoldsponsor
