Make A Ruckus Lane Cove for Quality Fuel at a Discounted Price

How many times have you been at a BBQ or out with friends, and you end up talking about how expensive it is to fill up the car?

Yes, there are apps where you can find the cheapest fuel price, but sometimes you need a compass and a waterbag to find the place with the cheapest fuel – whose got time for that?

It’s always way more convenient to whip around to a petrol station located in Lane Cove (particularly one that sells fantastic donuts and coffee… but more about that later, including a 99cents/Litre Fuel Day).

Discounted Fuel Prices with Ruckus

How can you access discounted fuel prices every time you fill up in Lane Cove? The answer is creating a Ruckus.

Ruckus is disrupting how you buy and pay for fuel.

Ruckus buys fuel below retail and passes those savings on to its members. Where they can, Ruckus buys like a service station – on a wholesale formula. But, unlike service stations, Ruckus does not make a margin on the fuel it sells to members – the only thing they add is a cost to cover bank fees (about 1.5¢ per litre).

A Ruckus member pays less than the pump price every time!!

It’s all done through the Ruckus app, and you don’t even have to go in-store to pay. This is brilliant for parents and pet owners.

How Does Ruckus Work?

  1. Download the Ruckus app from the
Apple App Store or Google Play.
  2. Become a Ruckus member (only $5 per month or $50 per year, and you can cancel any time. The first month’s membership is free!)
  3. Save your credit card details into the Ruckus App and set a pre-authorisation level (that way, you will never buy fuel without having credit on your credit card).

Congrats, you are now a Ruckus member ready to buy discounted fuel at a Ruckus site.

Where and How Does a Ruckus Member Buy Discounted Fuel in Lane Cove?

  • Go to either Jack & Co Burns Bay Road or Jack & Co Northwood and pull up next to the pump you want to use. Feel free to ignore the pump price, as you will not be paying that price.
  • Open the Ruckus app while you are in your car. You can check the discount fuel price before you even leave home or buy fuel.
  • Select the pump number, fuel type, and maximum fuel spend (don’t worry, you will only be charged for the amount of fuel dispensed – the fuel pump and the app talk to each other).
  • Hit the pump fuel button.
  • Fill up your car, and when you hang up the hose, auto-pay charges your nominated credit card, and the app email you a receipt.
  • Drive Off (unless you want to grab something yummy to eat from the shop – you don’t have to go in-store to pay.

You must be a Ruckus member and pay at the pump using the Ruckus app to receive the Ruckus member price.

ITC Hint:  If you want to be super speedy and get fuel and petrol simultaneously, order your coffee from Hey You before you leave home, and it will be waiting for you after you have filled up your car. If you can ignore the temptation to also buy a Nutella Donut – you’re a legend.

Who Came Up With this Good Idea?

Mick Jarvie and Ben Everitt founded Ruckus after both working in the fuel industry with Australia’s biggest fuel company.

Mick had negotiated some of the most significant fuel industry agreements in Australia. He’d developed and implemented growth strategies. After working as Head of Pricing with an ASX100 fuel company, he knew everything there is to know about fuel industry pricing!

Ben also had years of experience working with big fuel companies. He found the industry dynamic and fascinating, but he realised his passion was in helping new businesses get off the ground.

But the other thing Ben and Mick had in common was they both had young families. So, they were both fully aware of the rising costs of everyday necessities and the cost to an average family of filling a car or two.

Through their combined fuel industry experience, they knew there was a better way for everyday people, like their family and friends, to access cheaper, quality fuel.

Mick Jarvie and Ben Everitt founded Ruckus.

The idea of Ruckus grew.

They also knew that there hadn’t been any major changes to the fuel industry and its quickly fluctuating retail prices in decades!

Ben and Mick had worked together on other projects, so they put their heads together, took a giant leap of faith and started planning how they could make it happen.

Ben and Mick put a list together of how they hoped to make people’s family and work lives easier:

  • Use their industry knowledge and help everyday people save money on fuel.
  • Make it simple to access the discount prices anytime, anywhere you have a phone.
  • Know what the discount price was before you filled up.
  • Have a quick auto-pay feature to save time and make life easier for parents by not getting young kids out of the car to go in-store to pay.
  • Make membership affordable, build a community and give back to members for referrals.

So, they teamed up with highly experienced IT developers to create an app that provides a new way for customers to find a location, fill at a discount price and auto-pay easily.

The result was Ruckus.

And it turns out that Ben and Mick struck a nerve with their idea. Every day they get stories from members who want to share how much they’ve saved and how much the savings have added up over time. Members tell them how it’s made a difference to running their small business. Or how a tradie that fills up regularly likes the convenience of e-receipts instead of losing bits of paper.

Ben and Mick both agree the most rewarding part of Ruckus is seeing its impact on people, including the independent service station operators that partner with Ruckus.

But they’re not resting yet. Ben and Mick continually look for ways to add even more value to the valued members who’ve come on this journey with them. ITC can’t wait to see what is coming next.

This is a sponsored post for Ruckus. Jack & Co are ITC Business supporters and have been for a long time. They also employ local staff where possible.
