The fair was imagined by local Hunters Hill residents and vintage, bespoke and homeware enthusiasts, Bridget Hawthorne, Penny Doughty, Belinda Dowsett, and Heather Kitson.

Belinda, Bridget, Penny, and Heather were chatting over a cup of tea and thinking aloud about the many treasured pieces they had that needed to be rehomed because of moving, renovating, selling, downsizing or just because it was time!

This originated the first Hunters Hill Vintage, Bespoke & Homewares Fair in 2023!

Hunters Hill Vintage Bespoke & Homewares Fair continues to evolve as a bustling, creative space, booming with collectors, antiques, artists, vintage, curators, the bespoke, finds, an Australian textiles designer, lampshade maker, creatives, bespoke wrapping paper, a milliner, French linen homewares, all things beautiful… with a touch of bling!

Bridget was responsible for the award-winning restoration of the original Hunters Hill General Store, Alexandra House circa 1881 which was burnt to the ground in 2004. Everything that could be salvaged was recycled and restored, and with much love, determination, and immense talent, it was reincarnated into a beautiful family home. In 2014 Alexandra House, won the National Trust (NSW) Heritage Award.

Penny is a retail homewares stylist, collector within her own rights, and one of those talented people in all things home!

Belinda Dowsett and BM Interiors are responsible for creating many beautiful builds and redesigns throughout Hunters Hill and Sydney.

Heather’s background is in music and media as former editor of Sydney street press magazine, On the Street. Now Heather focuses on her ‘quirky and serendipity’ vintage shop INDIAN JANE TRADING in Bowral @indianjane.
