If you do your shopping at The Canopy on Saturday mornings, you might have heard the tween band Reverse Revolution rocking out in the Live Music Zone.
With 11-year-old Lane Covian Owen McEvoy on lead guitar, 11-year-old Deon Aldridge-Chow on drums and vocals, and 12-year-old Axel Teoh on vocals and guitar, Reverse Revolution has been a regular fixture near the lifts to Coles and ALDI since March 2025.
The boys have been drawing crowds with their energetic covers of classics like Spiderbait’s Black Betty, Powderfinger’s (Baby I’ve Got You) On My Mind, Greenday’s Holiday, and Guns N’ Roses’ Sweet Child O Mine.
How the Band Started
The three boys met at the Big Music School and Studios in Crows Nest, where they were selected for the elite “Young Guns” cover band and bonded over a shared love of music and video games. Musician and producer Kyle Charles Hall coaches them.

Reverse Revolution to Release Their First Album
Reverse Revolution is launching its very first original album, Bonjour Aliens, with four original songs inspired by young love, feeling lost, and … video games.
“We’ve been working on Bonjour Aliens for a long time,” Owen says. “We had to save up to record our songs, and are very thankful for all the people who supported our busking so we could make it happen.”
Not only do they rock out at the Live Music Zone in the Canopy, but they also won the 2025 Drummoyne Community Fun Day Busking Competition.

The Live Music Zone is an initiative of musician and entrepreneur Paul Bennett working with the Lane Cove Council to encourage and promote live music, and support young artists making their way in music.
In its three years of operation, the Live Music Zone has hosted a wide variety of solo and group performances ranging from classical clarinet to jazz and big band to pop, punk and rock and roll.
Artists are invited to book in to perform any time throughout the week, and may also participate in bigger events like International Make Music Day, which had acts scheduled across all three stages (the Plaza Stage, the Live Music Zone Stage and the Canopy Big Stage) held on 21 June 2025.
Reverse Revolution says its monthly busking sessions have helped it in several ways: by allowing them a way to raise money for recording, connecting with local audiences, and trying out new songs.
The boys will be hosting a launch party for their Bonjour Aliens album on 6 September 2025 at the Petersham Bowling Club. You can attend the launch event – click here to book.
Reverse Revolutions Next Lane Cove Gig – Lane Cove Live
The boys will be back at the Live Music Zone for the Lane Cove Live! event on 13 September 2025.
Lane Cove Live is an annual spectacular feast of music spanning the weekend of Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of September, with twelve fine artists or groups playing from 10:00 am to 5:15 pm across both days on three Lane Cove stages: the Live Music Zone, the Canopy Big Stage and the Plaza Stage.
Well done, boys, we can’t wait to see you at the ARIAs in a few years.
