Lane Cove Council has worked hard to put together a jam-packed celebration of creativity, culture and connection running throughout September 2025. Each year in September the Lane Cove Festival puts a spotlight on our local community groups and also the various places in Lane Cove where you can get your culture fix or enjoy what Lane Cove has to offer.
In 2025, the Lane Cove Festival is BIGGER thanks to a landmark collaboration with the Sydney Fringe Festival, bringing bold cabaret, live music, performance, and family-friendly entertainment to the other side of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (Lane Cove) in a celebration that’s more diverse than ever.

Mike Kenny – Lane Cove Local – Appearing at Pottery Lane Performance Space
If you love Jazz, this is the event for you. On Friday night, you will have the opportunity to sample what Mike Kenny has to offer.
Mike Kenny knows how to pull a crowd. He has already had some packed performances at the new Pottery Lane Performance Space, and for the Lane Cove Festival @ Sydney Fringe, he will be performing as a nonet (yep, we had to look that up as well – means nine musicians).
Blue Hues is a song cycle of jazz tunes based upon the blues played by a fantastic group of improvising musicians in a concert setting.
Each song has a different feel, key, inspiration, and emotional weight, yet all are woven together with the threads of a tradition that has over one hundred years of history. The blues is for everyone because everyone gets the blues. At its best, the blues lifts us out of our everyday struggles to see afresh that our pain is shared pain and our joy is shared joy.
The performance will be a one-hour set of original jazz tunes in a concert-style setting. There is time to enjoy a quick bite before or after the show in one of the many great restaurants and pubs in Lane Cove.

Experience a traditional Indian dance and original music as Lane Cove Local Kersh Sivakumaran promotes her latest production, which will be showing at the Pottery Lane Performance Space.
Kersh is the founder of Behind Closed Doors Theatre (BCD Theatre), a performance organisation dedicated to sharing the stories of diverse and marginalised communities in Australia.
Kirsh explained her production was accepted as part of Sydney Fringe; however, the opportunity to host in Lane Cove was a result of happenstance.
“I had my first festival committee meeting as part of the Council’s initiative to include the community in everyday decision making. And in that meeting, they had talked about how they wanted to host Sydney Fringe and were looking for some shows, and ideally local shows. Honestly, it felt like stars aligned,” Kersh told ITC outside the Pottery Lane Performance Space.
Kersh will be showcasing And What Will People Say?, a 60-minute immersive experience sharing the lesser-heard story of women staying for the sake of their children in cases of domestic violence. The performance will explore the topic while combining the artist’s speciality in Indian classical dance, music and spoken word.
