Lane Cove’s Big Family Fun Ride Sunday 21 September 2025

In 2024, The Big Family Fun Ride delivered exactly as advertised.  Lane Cove locals turned up for fun and cycling at Blackman Park.  It was the first time it was held at Blackman Park (it usually starts on Longueville Road and ends at Blackman Park).

On Sunday, 21 September 2025, The Big Family Fun Ride is back at Blackman Park, with the fun kicking off from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.

The event, hosted by Lane Cove Council, aims to encourage families to get outside and enjoy riding their bikes around Lane Cove.

On the day, there will be a bicycle tune-up and check station, a kids’ bicycle obstacle course, kids’ bicycle helmet decorating, and a free lunch for participants – all you need to do is register here and turn up.

Last year, the cycle helmet decorating station was a HUGE hit.

“I got loads of different colours,” another boy exclaimed, showing In The Cove his newly decorated helmet. It’s got magenta, glow-in-the-dark green, green, blue, and red feathers on it and a blue ribbon.”

“I have lots of lights… I have lots of different noise modes [on his bell]… I went really fast on the grass, down that hill and on the flat!”

If you want your kids to get outside and ride their bikes, this is a fun day for them (plus they get lunch, so mum and dad get a break).
