2025 Lloyd Rees Emerging Artist Awards – Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Space

The biennial Lloyd Rees Emerging Artist Award (formally the Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award) is back, and finalists will have their artwork displayed at Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Space from 3rd to 20th December 2025.

What is the Lloyd Rees Emerging Artist Award?

The Award is a national prize established in 1981 to promote and support talented emerging artists in Australia.

Initiated by the Lane Cove community in honour of its long-term resident and acclaimed artist Dr Lloyd Rees, who was an advocate for getting young artists involved in the arts.

The award is for artists aged 18-30 who create works in the mediums of painting, drawing, or printmaking.

What Are the Prizes?

First Prize: 8,000 (acquisitive) + a solo exhibition to be held alongside LREAA 2027 at Gallery Lane Cove (sponsored by Lane Cove Council).

Highly Commended: $1,500 (sponsored by Lane Cove Art Society)

Commended: $1,000 (sponsored by Centrehouse Inc.)

Click here to enter.  Entry Fees are $35 for one piece of artwork $60 for two pieces of artwork, and $90 for three pieces of artwork.  Entries close on 19 October 2025.

Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios stages several exhibitions a year.  Entry is FREE (yes, FREE).
