Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios Altered Landscapes Exhibition

In October 2025, Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios brings you Altered Landscapes. This exhibition is free to attend.  You can visit Gallery Lane Cove and then enjoy some of Lane Cove’s eateries.

Altered Landscapes

This exhibition presents the work of nine artists and former participants in the 2023 Bushwick South Sunday Salons. Facilitated by Dr. Amber Boardman and Lisa Woolfe, the salon series built upon the impactful Sunday Salons that for over 30 years the influential Louise Bourgeois held every Sunday. Altered Landscapes explores how critique can empower intuition through shared conversations and candid reflections, unlocking new creative directions and reinforcing artistic autonomy.

This group exhibition offers a rare glimpse into how peer feedback can transform creative practice. You will view the artist’s sketches, experiments, missteps, and the final work.

It is an intimate exploration of process, place, and practice.

As one of the featured artists, Dionisia Salas, notes, the sessions helped her to “develop a firmer footing, trust in [her] work and a deeper understanding that intuition is a honed skill.” Altered Landscapes makes visible the invisible labour of dialogue, support and risk-taking that fuels creative growth. Accompanied by public programs and artist talks, this exhibition invites audiences into a community-led creative journey.

About the Altered Landscapes Co-Curators

Rhonda Pryor

Rhonda Pryor is a contemporary artist practising across the disciplines of photography, textiles and painting. Her evocative, often highly personal work draws on memory, place and the senses as a means of expressing an understanding of being human. Thoughts and feelings coalesce into works that seek to subtly reflect emotional responses to experience.
Pryor lives and works in Sydney and holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Sydney College of the Arts.

She has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and been a finalist in several national awards and prizes, most recently the Alice Prize and the Lane Cove Art Award. In 2014, she was the winner of the City of Ryde’s 2014 International Women’s Day Art Prize, and she has received various grants and residencies throughout her career, including an Australia Council grant for a textile dyeing residency in Japan.
