Burns Bay Reserve is getting an upgrade. Lane Cove Council engaged a consultant to design some masterplans for the upgrade. You can now view the plans, and, more importantly, you can submit your comments or speak to the council at their pop-ups or information sessions.
If you live in the Waterview apartments or Best Street Apartments, you will want to have your say on how to improve this area. If you live on Kooyong Road, Riverview, you will also want to have your say (many neighbours remember when the flying fox was installed and the noise it made when it came to a stop – particularly when it was being used at 2 am in the morning.
Where is Burns Bay Reserve?
Burns Bay Reserve Lane Cove is accessed via Kooyong Road, off Riverview Street, Lane Cove. It is a peaceful spot by the water with playground and sports grounds.

| Sportsground Facilities: | Burns Bay Reserve is a large flat area. Soccer is played on the ground during winter. There is a basketball hoop and practice tennis wall. The playground area is located near the sports area. |
The Burns Bay is Getting and Upgrade -Masterplan Proposal
The Lane Cove Council’s Consultant has prepared a basic masterplan. They have then put together three different plans which shows that Burns Bay could be used for low impact activities up to high impact activities.

In addition to the Base Plan, Council is exploring further enhancements and improvement options. Three possible variations are outlined below.
These options are not final. They are intended solely to assess community interest in different components.

There are four kayaks currently available for hire along with paddles and floatation devices. More information available here.
Stunning Water Views
If you want to relax and take in water views, Burns Bay Reserve has a beautiful and peaceful view. You can also feed the ducks (but not bread as that is not good for ducks).

Yes – these toilets have seen better days.

Off Leash Dog Park
Burns Bay Reserve is also an Off Leash Dog Park (when sport is not being played). Burns Bay Reserve is used for soccer in the winter months
