Two more data centres are planned for Lane Cove West Business Park. One will be located at 16- 20 Mars Road Lane Cove West and the other one is to be located next to the existing Airtrunk data centre at 3-4 Apollo Place And 87-91 Mars Road, Lane Cove West.
16 – 20 Mars Road Lane Cove West
This data centre will progress through the Investment Delivery Authority (IDA). The developer is Lane Cove DC Alliance. As the developer has chosen to progress the application through the IDA, there are no public documents outlining the proposal. ITC has reached out to DC Allliance but has not heard back from them.
DC Alliance operates a data centre in Western Australia – their website does not list any information about this data centre.
When a project is endorsed by the IDA, this does not mean that planning approvals have been provided. The normal planning processes are still required for a project. Endorsed IDA projects that are endorsed would subsequently need to satisfy all NSW Planning legislation.
The proposed data centre will be located close by to the proposed Goodman 90W Data Centre 12 Mars Road, Lane Cove (called Project Mars).
You can view the Environmental Impact Statement for Project Mars here.
NSW Planning is now asking for feedback on Project Mars. You can make a submission here. All submissions must be made online. Submissions close on 28 April 2026.
3-4 Apollo Place And 87-91 Mars Road, Lane Cove West
A new data centre is planned next to the existing Airtrunk Data Centre and another data centre that has been approved by Planning NSW. This third data centre will have a 140MW capacity. The Data Centre specifications are listed below.

The three data centres will be owned by AirTrunk.

The new data centre will be higher than the other data centres. Lane Cove Council noted:
“The proposed development would attain a height which significantly breaches the maximum permissible height standard. This includes up to 3 levels, inclusive of the roof plant area, in some sections. The impacts of this height are exacerbated due to the level of excavation proposed to accommodate data halls well below existing ground level.”

The next step is for Airtrunk to lodge an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). As part of the EIS, Airtrunk must undertake community consultation.
