Community Workshop for the Lane Cove DCP Sustainability Review

Join us at this community workshop to provide input into the sustainability measures to be considered in the DCP Sustainability Review

Would you like to help ensure that development in the Lane Cove Local Government Area is designed for sustainability?

Council is conducting a Sustainability Review of the Lane Cove Development Control Plan (DCP) to ensure future developments align with our sustainability goals and objectives. Specifically to;

• Be low emission

• Be water efficient

• Protect and enhance our bushland and waterways

• Be climate resilient

• Assist with waste reduction and resource recovery

Join us at this community workshop to provide input into the sustainability measures to be considered as part of this review.

Background

A Development Control Plan provides detailed planning and design guidelines to support the planning controls in the Local Environmental Plan (LEP).

The intent of this review is to ensure development assists Council in meeting our sustainability objectives and goals which are:

• To achieve an 80% reduction in emissions by 2036 (based on 2016/17 levels)

• To have no net increase in water use by 2036 (based on 16/17 levels)

• To enhance and value our bushland, waterways and open space

• To have a climate resilient community

• To achieve an 80% diversion rate for domestic waste by 2036.
