Connect with Pride

Celebrate Pride with us at this networking event with a panel of speakers

Hear from a panel of diverse speakers to celebrate the Mardi Gras Festival 2024.

Meet local LGBTQIA+ community members and allies, network with other attendees and hear from a panel of speakers covering topics such as social cohesion, resilience and unity.

Share light refreshments and connect with new and old friends.

Tickets are free but bookings are essential.

Hosted by Lane Cove Council in conjunction with Good for the Hood and Sydney North Health Network, and in collaboration with The Alcott, Lane Cove and KNC (Ku-ring-gai Neighbourhood Centre).

Panel speakers:

Jo Taranto – Sustainability and Belonging advocate & Good for the Hood Founder
Jo Taranto is a sustainability communicator and founder of Good for the Hood. She works with residents and providers to deliver climate mitigation and adaptation solutions at a grassroots level.

Katie M Little – Comedienne & Radio personality
Katie M Little in her own words, comes from “the gayest family in Australia!”. A comedienne, performer and writer, her 2018 memoir ‘Catch A Falling Star – A Story About Growing Up with Jeanne Little’ was an unabashed, laugh-out-loud trip through a fabulously unconventional childhood. She’s appeared on numerous television shows including Studio 10, 60 Minutes, The Morning Show – and most notably Australian Story whose special, ‘I Dream Of Jeanne’ was the most highly rated episode of 2022. You can catch her radio show ‘A Little Morning Magic’ Thursday mornings 7-9am on 2RRR.

Karen Menzies – Silver Rainbow Learning & Development Officer
Karen Menzies (she/her) is a trans elder who moved from Adelaide to Sydney six years ago, and now a Learning and Development Officer at Twenty10. She has a passion to support gender and sexually diverse individuals who’ve experienced the mental health impacts of societal marginalising, discrimination and abuse. Karen has substantial experience in training-delivery and education, including LGBTIQA/Trans Awareness and Inclusive Practice workshops and Introduction to LGBTIQA Peer Work Courses.
