Join local author Kyra Geddes as she discusses her acclaimed debut novel The Story Thief, a historical fiction set largely in Sydney and the North Shore in the years 1900-1954, featuring iconic locations such as Sydney University, the QBV, Taronga Zoo and North Sydney.

The Story Thief blends fact and fiction into a stirring family saga set against shifting landscapes and pivotal moments in Australian history. The story follows Lillian who is convinced that Henry Lawson’s ‘The Drover’s Wife‘ is based upon her own family and determines to prove it. As the years pass, the truth becomes problematic, and Lillian must decide what is more important: holding onto the past or embracing the future.

The Story Thief is about mothers and daughters, the power of words, and ultimately about how each of us must find our own way to live.
