World Rivers Day is a day to celebrate and promote the importance of waterways around the world, which face an array of threats and require our dedicated stewardship. The Lane Cove River is one such beautiful and valuable waterway with remnant bushland and important ecological communities.
What better way to show your love for this local gem than to join Lane Cove Council’s Harbourcare team for a kayak along the Lane Cove River, collecting litter along the foreshore as we explore and protect this beautiful ecosystem.
Double kayaks supplied (sport/touring design), medium level fitness required, a little kayaking experience preferred but not necessary.
Minimum age 11 years old. Under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Bags, gloves and litter pickers provided.
Must wear enclosed shoes to attend. Wear sun-smart, light clothing that can get wet.
BYO water. COVID-safe & low waste snack & drink provided.
No corporate bookings allowed; Max. 2 tickets per group.

Location: the kayak trip will take place along the Lane Cove River, departing from Lane Cove West.
Meeting location: provided after booking
