Heritage Festival – Community churchyard cemetery

Chatswood South Uniting Church and cemetery (formerly Chatswood South Methodist Church) is one of the earliest church/cemetery complexes on the North Shore and was the first church built in Lane Cove. It’s been used by families not just from the Lower North Shore but by families as far north as Hornsby. The cemetery and church are significant heritage sites and are listed both locally and on the State Heritage Register.

Staff from Local Studies will discuss the history of the site, Lane Cove locals buried in the cemetery and some of the symbolism found on the gravestones in this small but important community churchyard.
