In Conversation with Stephen Dando-Collins – The Buna Shots

Join Stephen Collins, a prolific author of history, as he discusses his 48th book The Buna Shots: The Amazing Story Behind Two Photographs that Changed the Course of World War Two.

This book tells the never before revealed story behind the famous photo of a blinded Digger being helped along a track near Buna in New Guinea in 1942 by a Fuzzy Wuzzy Angel, and a ‘LIFE’ magazine photo taken just a few kilometres away just days later, of three dead Americans on Buna Beach – called ‘the photograph that won the war’ by Time magazine in 2014.

The two photographers had to conspire together and defy their governments to get their shots published. Books will be available for purchase at the event.
