Military History Talk: Correspondents in War: We go, so you’ll know

12 December 2023 @ 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm

Tuesday 12 December, 6:15pm. Correspondents in War

Join Former LTCOL Christopher Holcroft OAM RFD JP (Ret’d) as he discusses the story of Australia’s war correspondents. War Correspondents are often considered to have one of the most dangerous jobs in journalism. Some work for private news agencies while others also work for the military. They work on or close to the front lines reporting back on what they witness. As the Motto of the Australian War Correspondents and Military Public Affairs Association says, ‘We go, so you know’.

Christopher has served in the Army Reserve for 43 years, working in military public affairs and deploying to East Timor and Iraq. His talk covers his war correspondent experiences as well as those of William Lambie, Damien Parer, Neil Davis. Also the formation of various agencies specialising in war journalism and public relations.

Free History Talk. Bookings essential.
