Military History Talk – New Britain 1943-1945 and Operation Cartwheel

Join LTCOL Graeme Davis (Retd) from the Lane Cove RSL Sub-Branch, and principal of Family Military History for a fascinating talk on World War Two Operation Cartwheel. The island of New Britain in New Guinea served as an important army and airbase for the Japanese during World War Two, following its capture in January 1942. From March 1943 the Allies launched Operation Cartwheel to regain control of the island and its main town, Rabaul.
