Opening Night: Digital Materiality -Coded Textiles | Art Month Sydney

This exhibition challenges industrial methods of textile mass production from an outmoded Industrial Age and presents systems of production that engage volatile futures of resource scarcity

Viewers will encounter an installation of hybrid adaptive textile machinery performed as a choreography of processes. A complex series of exchanges between materials, organisms and environments that rub together, where the shape of a walk or the geography of sleep become a form-taking activity and leave a textile trace.

Opening address from 6:30pm by Cecilia Heffer – Senior Lecturer in Textiles, Fashion ad Textiles, University of Technology, Sydney.
