Regenerating Australia – brought to you by Northern Sydney Councils

11 May 2022 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Join us for a special screening

What would Australia look like in 2030 if we simply listened to the needs of its people?

Join us for a screening of Regenerating Australia (PG), an uplifting and solutions-based film from Damon Gameau, the award-winning director of 2040 and That Sugar Film. It is a story of empowerment. A story of solutions. A story of regeneration.

Set on New Year’s Eve of December 2029, a news anchor is ending the nightly bulletin with a look back at the decade ‘that could be’. A decade that saw Australia transition to a fairer, cleaner, more community focused economy. The film is a construction of news reports and press conferences featuring Kerry O’Brien, Sandra Sully, Tim Flannery, Larissa Behrendt, David Pocock and other well-known voices. The film is based on a four-month ‘listening campaign’ with a diverse group of Australians who shared their hopes and dreams for the country’s future.

The film is 17 minutes in duration and will be followed by an online panel discussion with Natalie Isaacs from 1 Million Women, energy expert Professor Mark Diesendorf and youth advocate Stephanie Evans.

This webinar is proudly run in partnership with seven Northern Sydney Councils: Hornsby Council; Hunters Hill Council, Ku-ring-gai Council, Lane Cove Council, Mosman Council, North Sydney Council and Willoughby Council.
