A fun and creative all day workshop that incorporates drawing, sculpting and painting.
Students begin by imagining their favourite animal or pet. Bring along a photograph if you like for reference. The class will begin with drawing chosen animals, considering its physical size and details, such as eyes, hair, etc.
With some clay, the students will sculpt the selected animal, with focus on structure, movement and portion. The objective is an to impart an understanding of how to mould the animal into 3D form.
Using their sculpture as a reference, the students will move on to create more practice drawings, then choosing their favourite, transfer onto their final work. They will paint their final piece with acrylics. The teacher will guide them to think about colour choice and impart techniques that will render appropriate textures.
