Seniors Reconnect – Start the Conversation & Financial Literacy

Practical skills for wellbeing & money management, delivered by Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney with the support of Lane Cove Council.

Lane Cove Council is delighted to announce the return of the Reconnect Program this October, in support of Mental Health Month. This 5-week initiative will focus on supporting the health, wellbeing, and connection of seniors in our community.

Week 2 – Session 1 (9:30am – 10:30am) : Lifeline Start the Conversation

The Lifeline’s ‘Start the Conversation’ workshop equips participants with the confidence to recognise distress in others and provides techniques for engaging in meaningful conversations. It also teaches the skills of listening without judgment, strategies to support those in need, and how to practice self-care.

Week 2 – Session 2 (10:45am – 11:45am) : Lifeline Financial Literacy

The Lifeline’s “Financial Literacy” workshop will help you understand financial counselling, budgeting, and goal setting. Learn about credit traps like Buy Now Pay Later, your consumer rights, and key topics like superannuation, the ATO, and Centrelink. Gain the tools to manage your money confidently and reduce financial stress.
