Nicole de Mestre creates an eclectic range of artistic works, all inspired by environmental concerns and linked through the use of recycled materials and found objects. Join her for a three hour workshop, to discover the art of stitched baskets. Usually constructed from natural materials, instead you will create a small basket from recycled and found materials-wire, rope, fabric, flyscreen, whipper snipper cord, security fencing, fruit nets-waste all destined for landfill.
Materials: Supplied, but bring along a bag of your own if you feel inclined. Also scissors and large sewing needles will be useful.
Some dexterity is required for hand-sewing.Ages: 13+
Bring yourself and some creativity. Everything else is supplied, including morning tea or coffee.
