SEPTEMBER 24: DR STEPHEN GAPPS The Sydney Wars Stephen Gapps is curator at the Australian National Maritime Museum. He is also an historian and his recent, provocative, book, The Sydney Wars, deals with the period 1788 until 1817. His work is the first detailed research "to see Aboriginal tactics as military tactics at all." Stephen grasps the military context of how British & Aboriginal forces developed their tactics & how the violence played out.
