Since In the Cove started we have relied on our roving reporters in Lane Cove to keep us up to date on all things in Lane Cove.
In the Cove started three years ago, since that time we have expanded and the In the Cove team consists of Ms In The Cove and her offsider Sue (pictured below).
However it is very difficult to be in many places at one time and we rely so much on our trusty Roving Reporters. Now it is time to give back to those wonderful people, with our Roving Reporter of the Month Award. The person chosen as our best roving reporter of the month will receive a beautiful certificate and a $50 voucher to a Lane Cove business featured in our business directory. This is a game of skill, not chance and winners will be picked on the basis of the quality and accuracy of the information provided.
So what does a Roving Reporter do?
In the Cove’s mantra is ‘What Happens In the Cove Stays In the Cove’. In other words, if it is happening in the Cove we will tell you all about it.
In the Cove aims are to:
- Promote a neighbourly conversation on all things Lane Cove;
- Connect Lane Cove residents with other residents;
- Highlight the Local Residents of Lane Cove and provide a glimpse into their lives;
- Provide a forum for all Lane Cove community organisations, charity groups and sporting groups to connect with Lane Cove residents and to advertise their events free of charge;
- Investigate and Inform Lane Cove Residents on issues that impact their day to day lives;
- Promote Local Businesses and encourage people to Be Local, Shop Local, Eat Local and Drink Local;
- Highlight Lane Cove success stories, inventions and famous people;
- Provide networking opportunities for local businesses and community groups; and
- Talk about all things Lane Cove (from A to Z and back again).
In the Cove covers all areas in the Lane Cove Local Council Electorate and includes Lane Cove, Lane Cove West, Lane Cove North, Mowbray, Greenwich, Linley Point, Osbourne Park, Longueville, Riverview and Northwood
What do we want you to report on?
We want you:
- To let us know of any incidents (traffic jams, power outages, break and enters, etc);
- To tell us about all the things you love in the Cove;
- To tell us top tips for living in the Cove;
- To provide us with your favorite recipes (using ingredients you can easily source In the Cove (I feel an In the Cove cookbook not far away!!!)
- To tell us your favorite café, butcher, fruit shop, hairdresser, vet, park, massage therapy place, beautician or Lane Cove shop or place;
- Tell us your favorite community organisation;
- To let us know if you have done something extraordinary;
- To let us know local issues that impact on your day to day activities;
- To become a photojournalist and snap a beautiful picture of Lane Cove for us – if it includes people please obtain their express consent to post it on In The Cove.
If you are a community or sporting organisation we want you to:
- tell us about your upcoming events;
- give us a report of any interesting issues affecting your group; or
- tell us about your registration days or fundraising events.

ITC has had a love/hate relationships with Dentists over the years, however since starting ITC and meeting the team at Apple Dental my thoughts have changed. ITC first became aware of Lane Cove Orthodontics when they sponsored Miss ITC’s school’s main fundraising evening (and they have done it every year since). They were so generous and gave away a treatment for a live auction. I will never forget the auctioneer saying Don’t be Bucky c’mon get Lucky and win this auction. Since that time Miss ITC has become a patient of DR T REX (yes that is correct). LCO is such a professional practice. ITC highly recommends this practice.

Zjoosh is a Lane Cove success story. They started in Lane Cove and after our recent survey (which you can view here), we found out that Zjoosh is Lane Cove’s favourite shop. New stock is always coming into the shop and it is the best place to find an affordable and lovely birthday gift or hostess gift.

Lane Cove Physio
For years all my sporty friends (who inevitably end up with an injury) kept on talking about a great physio called Jack at the end of Longueville Road. Well after a recent knee injury I now know Jack from Lane Cove Physio. I am now a regular user of their hydrotherapy pool. The pool has recently been converted to Ozone. You spend time in the pool with a qualified physio. They have a sports injury clinic on a Monday night where you can go along for a free assessment.
