Welcome to our Lane Cove Week in Review, for 27 June to 3 July 2016.
Popular Business Rebrand
This week Stain Cafe Lane Cove was rebranded to become Mowbray Eatery.
Mowbray Eatery is Lane Cove’s FARM-TO-TABLE local destination open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week and a changing weekly dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights 5.30-9.30. Mowbray focuses on seasonal and fresh ingredients and is supported and supports the Lane Cove community!
The Election
On Saturday we had the difficult decision of deciding which polling station to go to, based on whether there was going to be a sausage sizzle and/or cake stall.
A brave Roving Reporter did the sausage sizzle rounds, and shared his vote HERE.
Locals in the Media
This Week’s Addiction
During the week ITC meet up with some of the gang from Bespoke Catering, who are located at Northwood Shops. We may have sampled one or two (or eight) of their to-die-for chocolate brownies #wedidntquitsugar
Plastic Free July
This month is Plastic Free July. Can you go a whole month not using plastic?
New Childcare Centre
Work started this week on the old Mandalay site on the corner of Burns Bay and Tambourine Bay Roads, to change the premises into a childcare centre.
Another Reason We Love Lane Cove
Thanks to a Roving Reporter for sending us this photo of Hazel McNamara from Allen Estate Agents Lane Cove. They said “Hi, Just thought you would be interested in posting a feel good story. I turned up late to inspect a property in Elizabeth Parade today and found the agent, Hazel McNamara from Allen Estate Agents, busy vacuuming the floor for the owner, who had recently had a fall. Obviously an agent who cares about her clients.”
Stop Press
You might want to sit down for this…. Bakers Delight has closed for refurbishment!! They are due to reopen on Thursday 21 July. We are a little concerned about how the local Finger Bun addicts are going to cope!
