Lane Cove Council Revamps the Cameraygal Festival

For over 25 years, the Lane Cove Council has run the Cameraygal Festival.  The Festival usually takes place over nine weeks and includes plenty of things to do and see.

The Cameraygal Festival showcased Lane Cove’s dynamic history, landscape, lifestyle, and community. Events included live shows, workshops, entertainment, classes, walks and talks, children’s activities, adult activities, and much more.   The Festival always ended with the popular Lane Cove Village Fair.  Events included both free and ticketed, with most being free!

The Cameraygal Festival was a great opportunity for local groups to raise their profile in the community and receive free publicity in the festival brochure.

The Festival was named after the Traditional Owners of the Lower North Shore, the Cameraygal clan. Now in its 26th year, the festival is trialing a new name and revised duration. The Festival will be marketed as the Lane Cove Festival and has been shortened to take place during the month of September to give the program more impact during the busy Spring period.

If you are a community group in the Lane Cove Local Government Area, the Lane Cove Council would like to invite you to submit your September events to be included in the 2017 Lane Cove Festival program. Submissions close Friday 26 May.

Submit your events online today!   Enquiries: [email protected] or 9911 3594

ITC suggests that if you are a community group you submit your application asap.  Obviously, there will be fewer chances to be included in the festival programme due to the festival period being shortened.
