Infinity Hair, located at the Figtree Shops, is Lane Cove’s first Sustainable Salon. Sustainable Salons is a comprehensive resource recovery service designed for the salon environment that rewards the salon and gives back to the community. They are turning salon waste into valuable resources while giving back to the community.
Sustainable Salons donates all profits from recycling foils to food recovery organisation Oz Harvest. Chemical waste is collected too, mixed with recycled water and used for manufacturing instead of going into drains and contaminating oceans. You can find out more about Infinity Hair being a sustainable salon here.
Not only does Infinity Hair recycle all their waste, but they also have some amazing clients and staff members who have donated their hair. The hair is collected to make wigs for the Variety Children’s Foundation. In 2007, after their daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with alopecia areata, Matthew and Rebecca Adamson established the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Foundation to raise awareness of the condition and funds to supply quality, human hair wigs to people with Alopecia. In 2013, the foundation became part of the Variety family, becoming the Princess Charlotte Alopecia Program. Building on the amazing work of Matthew, Rebecca and their volunteers, it has continued to grow – granting wigs to children with Alopecia and accepting hair donations to make into wigs for those whose hair loss is due to a medical condition.
Here are just some of Infinity Hair’s fabulous clients who have donated their hair to charity.
