The Lane Cove Golf Club – Jazz
Every Friday Night the Full Swing Quartet at the Lane Cove Golf Club swing into action with a special guest. This week’s special guest it Virna Sanzone at 7 pm.
Virna is typical of the high quality of guest artists that are featured on Friday nights. She is deeply soulful, yet with the ability to sail effortlessly through the most intricate jazz melodies, Virna Sanzone is renowned for her passionate delivery and remarkable improvisational approach.
Virna is currently collaborating with pianist Paul Grabowsky on “The Italian Project”, which received rave reviews at the 2014 Stonnington Jazz Festival and at the 2013 SIMA International Women’s Jazz festival, with a recording of the project imminent.
Virna has also been an integral part of projects that have seen her move across a diverse range of genres. Amongst other credits, she has performed nationally with Paul Kelly and the Australian Art Orchestra, and appears on countless recordings for radio, film and television. Bringing with her a world of diverse musical influences, hearing Virna live is a special experience.
