Kasina Korean Eatery Lane Cove’s Top Five Dishes

In 2018 Lane Cove had an explosion of new restaurants.  One of the new kids on the block was Kasina Korean Eatery Lane Cove.  Kasina is run by Victoria and her husband Andy (who is also the Chef).  Their aim was to create a modern Korean dining experience that appeals to locals. ITC thinks they have done this as we have gone back many times to dine.

We asked Victoria to tell us their top five dishes.

Number 1 – KFC (Korean Fried Chicken)

Our Korean Fried Chicken is made using deboned chicken which has been marinated in Andy’s special spice mix.  We have 8 different options to choose from: Original Crispy, Sweet&Spicy, Hot&Spicy, Soy Garlic, Spring Onion, Honey Butter, Snow Cheese, Hotter than Hell. Original Crispy and Sweet&Spicy are the most popular so far. ITC Hint: Victoria’s favourites are Hot&Spicy and Soy Garlic

Number 2 – Bulgogi Bibimpap

Bibimbap is probably one of the most well-known and beloved Korean dishes to many people and to Lane Cove diners! Bulogi Bibimbap has been the top seller across our menu so far. It simply translates to “mixed rice with meat and assorted vegetables” We offer five options to choose from: Bulgogi (Marinated and chargrilled beef), Spicy pork, Veggie, Teriyaki salmon and Original Kasina.

Number 3 – Seafood Pancake

Seafood Pancake is a Korean style pancake filled with vegetables and mixed seafood and served with an addictive homemade dipping sauce. As it’s quite a big portion, we recommend sharing with 2-3 or more. We recently started serving a Kimchi Pancake and it’s been very popular as well.

Number 4 – Bulgogi Steak

Bulgogi is a classic Korean grilled marinated beef. It is usually made with thinly sliced beef but our interpretation is a modern approach according to local’s preference. Our Bulgogi is marinated forty-eight hours in our own secret sauce mix. All our BBQ menu is served with fresh lettuce cups and a pot of ssamjang, a fermented soybean&chill mixed dipping sauce. Our staff will let you know the best way to have Bulgogi with those.

Number 5 – Japchae

Japchae is a sweet and savory dish of stir-fried glass noodles with beef and vegetables. It’s one of the most popular traditional celebration dishes, often served on special occasions such as weddings, birthdays and holidays.
