Many of us have dreamt about writing a book at some stage in our lives, but few actually put pen to paper. Lane Cove Local Mum Tania Gold has just released her first novel, Keys to My Heart, and we asked her a few questions about her book.
What is Keys to My Heart About?
The story is about a friendship and love forged from two polar opposites over the piano. Ezra Stein, a pianist, dealing with loss, rebuilding his life from scratch. Rose Bloom, a corporate who wants more than just her profession. When both of their lives intertwine, an unexpected friendship blossoms, and they realize that they bring the best out of each other. But they soon realize that choices need to be made. The only question is, will those decisions make or break their relationship?
What Prompted You to Write Keys to My Heart
I have always dreamed of writing a novel.
In 2018, my husband and I were discussing how our two year old enjoyed dancing to a guitarist busking in the Lane Cove shops, and an idea sprung.
Watching everyone clap and smile as my toddler danced and took the spotlight, inspired my story about music. It was also a challenge from my husband, to start a story from beginning to end and get it published like I dreamed of doing for years.
Have you Written Anything Before?
I entered children’s writing competitions when I was younger and ended up being published three times. At one point when I was eleven, they even invited me to write for one of their competitions! As I got older, I enjoyed writing poetry and also have one published on their website.
Was Publishing the Book Hard?
It took time because it required lots of research on reliable and reputable publishing companies.
Any Plans to Write Another Book?
Yes indeed. As a matter of fact, I have just completed my first draft of a new manuscript! Watch this space for 2022!
Where Can We Purchase the Book?
How Long Have You Lived in Lane Cove?
I’ve been living in Lane Cove since 2014.
What Are Your Favourite Things to do in Lane Cove?
I love the Lane Cove shops and The Canopy, of course! I spent both maternity leaves eating and socializing in Lane Cove, and I still do!
What’s Your Favourite Lane Cove Coffee Shop?
I enjoy all of the places (over the years, I made it an aim to try all the coffee shops) but my favourite is Two Brothers.
Good Luck to Tania, and we hope the book is a smashing success.
