Free Child Car Seat Safety Checking Clinic
Saturday 16 September, 9:00am – 1:00pm, Lane Cove Council Civic Centre Car Park, 48 Longueville Rd, Lane Cove
Council is offering a free child car seat safety checking clinic for people who live in the Lane Cove Council area. You can have your child car seats, harnesses and booster seats checked for safety and fit by an authorised restraint fitter.

Car Free Sunday
17 September 2023
Walk up to Lane Cove and reclaim the streets. Leave the car at home and enjoy a walk to Lane Cove Plaza.
Road closures will start from 6:00am and go until 7:00pm on Sunday, 17 September 2023 at the following locations:
- Longueville Road – between Birdwood Avenue and Central Avenue
- Burns Bay Road – between Finlayson Street and Tambourine Bay Road
- Birdwood Lane – between Birdwood Avenue and Rosenthal Ave (access will only be provided to properties along Birdwood Lane).
Special Event: No Stopping’ zones will be in place on Longueville Road, Burns Bay Road, and Birdwood Avenue. Please ensure your vehicle is not parked in the temporary no stopping zones for the duration of the road closure.
There will be NO VEHICLE ACCESS for the duration of the event.
Access to The Canopy Car Park (Rosenthal Ave), Little Street Car Park and Market Square Car Park (Austin St) will not be affected.
The Big Family Fun Ride
Sunday 17 September, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Spring is in the air and with it is the time to enjoy cycling with the whole family at the Big Family Fun Ride! Both routes will be on shared user paths, off-road where possible and away from busy streets.
There will also be multiple skills level courses to choose from.
After you finish your chosen route, all riders will have the opportunity to participate in a cycle skills course and helmet decoration competition organised and run by Pedal-Set-Go.
A children’s cycle skills course, a riding obstacle course, helmet decoration competition, a ‘selfie photo’ frame opportunity and bike maintenance workshop will run continuously while the Longueville Road Loop ride is taking place.
