It is compulsory to vote in The Voice Referendum on 14 October 2023.
How to Complete the Ballot Paper
At a referendum, you will receive a ballot paper with the proposed amendment to the Constitution, followed by a question asking if you approve the proposed alteration. On the referendum ballot paper you need to indicate your vote by clearly writing:
- YES in the box if you approve the proposed alteration, OR
- NO in the box if you do not approve the proposed alteration.

Postal Voting
Postal voting is available for anyone not able to make it to vote in-person, either on voting day or during the early voting period.
Postal vote applications will close at 6pm on Wednesday 11 October 2023.

Where to Pre Poll
Pre-polling opens on 4th October 2023. There are no places to pre-poll in Lane Cove or Hunters Hill.
