For those staying In the Cove over Easter, we’ve trawled the local businesses to find out who will be open over the Easter break.
So if you NEED a coffee on Good Friday or Easter Sunday (and who doesn’t!?) or you’re all out of a vital ingredient for Easter baking, we’ve got the intel here with our list of trading hours.
Some local takeaway shops will close early on Easter Thursday, so if you are really keen on picking up some tucker from those shops, don’t leave it until the last minute.
We have done our best to ensure the information below is accurate. However, plans do change, so if you are really keen on a particular place, give them a call to check.
Double Demerit Points
Double Demerit consecutive days over the 2025 Easter long weekend, from Thursday 2 April to. midnight Monday, 6 April 2026. Just a heads up, there are also double demerit points over the ANZAC Day period, 24 April to 27 April 2026.
Petrol, Convenience Stores, Booze and Yikes I have Locked Myself Out
If you need Petrol and Convenience Store items on over the Easter period, Jack & Co is open. You can buy petrol, coffee, ice, snack food and all those essential ingredients you forgot to get for that secret Easter dish. They are located in Northwood and Burns Bay Road and have stocked up on ice for Easter Day.
Porters Nothwood is open and you can order via Uber, Doordash or Menulong.
They are only closed on Good Friday and open the rest of Easter.
If you lock yourself out of your house or you need a replacement lock urgently – Alert Locksmiths and Security operate their emergency service 24 Hours a Day/7 Days a Week.
I need a Doctor or a Vet
If you need a Doctor on public holidays, Wise Medical Clinic in Macquarie Park is a private billing emergency clinic, and they are open 10 am-10 pm 7 days a week.
For your Furry family members needing a vet, North Shore Veterinary Hospital in Artarmon is open 24/7 for emergencies only or SASH in Ryde.
Lane Cove Council Emergency Issues
The Lane Cove Council offices will be closed from Good Friday to Easter Monday Inclusive.
In case of Council emergencies, call 9911 3555, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What Do I Do With My Pets While I Am Away?
Paws Galore will be providing pet boarding services over the Easter long weekend. So if you’re going away and need your beloved pet (dog or cat) looked after, then get in touch ASAP and book your dog or cat with Paws Galore. They will be well cared for by one of their pet sitters at the pet sitter’s own home, so your pet will have a “home away from home” experience.
