Herringbone Hair Design opened upstairs in Central Arcade, in September 2017. We spoke to owner, Karen Craven-Sands, and her offsider Heidi Doughty, to find out more about this new salon.
What is your hair philosophy?
We like crafting beautiful healthy hair and we like having fun doing it! We have created an intimate hair salon that our clients love.
Which products do you use?
We use Alphaparf – an Italian brand that leaves the hair looking so rich and shiny, we are so happy with our colours. We also use Alphaparf Keratin smoothing and straightening, it is so fantastic. We can customise it to your specific needs, because everyone has different hair. The Alphaparf Kertain treatment makes managing your hair so easy, especially when that humidity hits.
What is unique about your salon?
We are new fresh salon hidden away upstairs from the hustle and bustle of the Lane Cove shopping district. Our clients tell us we feel like a spa as the salon is so calm and relaxing. We are an appointment only hair salon and we focus on personal service so when you meet your hairdresser you are given their direct phone number. You deal with the same person the entire time from colouring, washing, cutting, and styling. We make a real connection with you.
What do you offer as special to clients?
With every colour treatment, we provide a complimentary hair treatment. While you relax in your massage chair you will receive a head massage, a hot towel, and a hand massage … not to mention the cheeky champagne.
Also, when you refer a friend to our salon, to show our appreciation, you and your friend each receive $20 off their next hair appointments.
Why did Herringbone Decide to Open in Lane Cove?
We opened on the 1st of September 2017, although I have been working in Lane Cove on and off for the last 14 years. I have lived in Lane Cove and my kids went to Lane Cove Public School. Lane Cove is a great place and is growing and improving all the time… why wouldn’t I open here should be the question!
Our official opening party is on Saturday 2 December at 5.00 pm.
What do you like about Lane Cove?
Lane Cove has a great village atmosphere and is connection point for a large and diverse community. Family friendly, and lots of cool coffee shops and small bars starting to open up which is very exciting.
