The psoas (or HIP FLEXOR) muscle is often the underlying cause back pain, breath dysfunction, postural issues. It is no wonder that having a happier and more fluid psoas will be beneficial for your posture, back health and depth of breath.
During our 3-hour workshop you’ll learn how to use gentle, therapeutic Somatics movement to learn to soften, release and awaken your psoas, and how to continue this work as a home practice.
The resulting effect will be a beautifully fluid, connected psoas, enhanced skeletal integrity and balanced nervous system.
Somatic is a gentle yet powerfully effective therapeutic movement practice. It is suitable for all fitness levels from people living with chronic pain right through to movement teachers and high-end athletes – improving movement potential and performance, regardless.
The psoas is commonly known as the grumpiest muscle of the whole body. By freeing it up, we can look forward to some of these benefits:
– marked decrease in back pain
– improved breath function
– digestion improvements
– reduction in sciatica
– “Desk-Sitting” postural improvements
– a feeling of increased EASE in the body
The Somatics workshops will include handouts to assist your ongoing home practice. If you have difficulty getting on or off the floor, lets us know, and we can accommodate your needs.
