Can Funny Signs Revitalise the High Street?

Have you noticed the High Street/Strip Shops closing in your suburb?  In the suburb I live in many shops are closing. Why are people no longer shopping at their local? Sometimes the shops are so drab you scurry away quickly.  However if a shop has a clever window display or funny quirky sign I tend to stop and sometimes go inside. Recently I was lucky enough to visit London and I saw so many signs that made me giggle I thought I would share them with you.

Here are just a few of my favourite funny signs.

Well if the food is good enough for the owner – its good enough for me.

I agree keep your friends close and your pizza closer.  I stopped at this shop and also noticed the huge pizza and Fiat.

Just love this – very quirky and enticing.

This sign dressed up an office block.

I would rather eat at this eatery than one named jo’s lunchbox.

This business was moving and they were drawing your attention to their other stores – great way to do it.

Just a good old fashioned play on the name of a great cult movie.

Even quoting Shakespeare makes you stop and check out what is going on – this was promoting the Globe Theatre.

Finally just to show you that we have some funny signs in Lane Cove , here is a sign that was in my suburb from Ecodownunder – it made me laugh.

So what do you think?  Do quirky signs help?
