Welcome to our monthly wrap-up of business openings, closings, rebrandings, change of management and milestones. Thank you to all those people who tell us this is one of their must read blogs of the month!!
Opened
The Source Bulk Foods Lane Cove opened on 4 March in Lane Cove Market Square (next to Trendsetter Travel), and have been busy busy since then. The owners, Geoff and Michelle, are delightful and are loving being part of the Lane Cove Community. They are now listed in our business directory.
It really is like stepping back into an old general store. They are bringing back personal service with a fun and interactive no waste shopping experience. They have told ITC they regularly see people coming in with recipes and just buying the exact amount of herbs, spices or dried fruit they need for a recipe. This may be an excellent idea for anyone who has seen pantry moths (the ITC household may or may not be fighting these little blighters at the moment). The more dried goods you have sitting around in packages, the more those little fellows hang around.
Check out this amazing Coconut Cake that one of their shoppers (and we think an ITC Fan) Georgia Shackleton made. Yes, you can buy three different types of coconut (at least).
Lane Cove Sushi Bar re-opened to much excitement and some great opening week specials. The Lane Cove Sushi Bar has been missed by many. It is now located in the old Warwick Dawson Shoe Store (next to Lane Cove Optical). The restaurant is huge compared to their old store down the other end of Longueville Road. There are your old favourites and some new things to tempt your taste buds.
Taylors @ One Birdwood – Lane Cove Club – The Lane Cove Club has another operator (who has returned).
According to the club, there is an exciting new menu and some familiar faces behind the counter. Come on in and have a look for yourself. Children are more than welcome, so bring the whole family. Open for lunch and dinner during the week and Saturday nights as well. Bookings are a good idea. Simply contact reception. To see their new menu, click here. There will be daily specials as well, there really is something for everyone.
Dkor Interiors also opened during March. They specialise in European bed heads, furniture and homewares. They will also custom make furniture for you. The store is located near the Commonwealth Bank on Longueville Road. Read more about them in our business directory.
They suggest you pop in and speak to them about any furniture you have which could do with an update. Dkor Interiors will help you turn your furniture into something new by:
- Re-Upholstering – It’s as easy as choosing the fabric you want from their huge collection of fabrics in store
- Re-painting – Repainting your dining table or the French Loui Chair that you inherited can add years to your furniture combining this with new fabric and you have a brand new piece of furniture at half the price.

Changes
Stain Lane Cove is evolving. The delightful Tasia from Stain Hunters Hill has relocated to Stain Lane Cove and will be working with the staff to bring some exciting new concepts and plans to Stain Lane Cove. ITC was a bit excited when we heard all her plans (so stay tuned). Stain now opens for dinner on Thursday, Friday and Saturday 5.30-9.30pm. Tasia was a driving force on the Hunters Hill restaurant scene and was one of the people who helped put together the Hunters Hill Street Feast (ITC would love to see something like that in Lane Cove).
An interesting bit of trivia for you: the person who developed the idea of the Street Feast has a business in Lane Cove West with her husband. Pop down and see Elizabeth at Eurocycles Electric Bikes.
Reopened
Bliss Hair and Body have been in Riverview for 17 years. Kimberley and her team work with you to make you feel special. We have seen some of their work. Bliss has just reopened their Beauty Room, and it looks incredibly peaceful and relaxing. They are now also listed in our business directory – so you can find all their details quickly. If you don’t want to fight for a car park in Lane Cove, then pop on over and see Kimberly.
Relocated

Harbourline Real Estate in Greenwich have moved into new premises on Greenwich Road
Sushi Maru has new signage – it looks pretty schmick (and appeared just before the reopening of the Lane Cove Sushi Bar). As our good friend Avo from Zapperelli’s Pizza says – there is room for everyone in Lane Cove if you are good enough. The more competition, the better!!!!
Rumours
We have heard a new Spanish Restaurant and Tapas Bar might be moving into the old BBQ Kitchen shop on Longueville Road. The owner apparently has a Spanish Tapas Bar in the City.
Massage Envy to come to Lane Cove: Massage Envy is an American company associated with Anytime Fitness. It seems they may be rebranded as Massage Collective. In the US, having a Massage Envy membership means having access to massages, spa facials, and products and at hundreds of locations nationwide. Apparently you can enjoy less stress, more energy and improved wellness on your schedule. ITC noticed they were advertising for staff at their Flagship Lane Cove store (oh ITC does love a good flagship store).
Milestones
Congratulations to Burns Bay Physiotherapy for 20 years in Lane Cove.
