The Burns Bay Road Shops are located in Lane Cove West. It takes two minutes to drive to the shops from the Lane Cove Post Office. No-one really knows what to call this shopping precinct. It’s apparently officially known as the Charlish Lane Shops. Other people know it as Wade’s Corner or Agora Shops (some even know it as Rosie’s Corner).

Whatever you know it as, there is a great range of shops and services that you should know about. Many of the businesses have been in this area for over 20 years.

In fact you could say it’s the medical hub of Lane Cove. There is an amazing array of health professionals located in this shopping precinct: doctors, physiotherapists, chiropractors, remedial masseurs, a speech therapist, a psychologist, naturopaths, a compounding chemist and a dentist practice.

ITC regularly shops at the Burns Bay Road shops due to the fact that parking is easy to find and you can grab a quick cuppa after you have finished your chores.

Phillip Wade has built the most amazing integrated wellness chemist, sleep apnoea, naturopath and weight loss clinic. Their motto is: our pharmacy dispenses what you really want – health. They are also a compounding chemist.  Phillip Wade was introduced, as a relatively young pharmacist, to the positive health benefits that natural medicine could achieve, he decided to become formally trained in Nutritional Medicine, Herbal Medicine and Homoeopathic Medicine. Burns Bay Physiotherapy

Burns Bay Physiotherapy was established in Lane Cove 20 years ago by sisters Ann Ross and Jill Ross, who are Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists. Kirsty Tradell began working as a physiotherapist at Burns Bay Physiotherapy in October 2014. The practice currently has 3 Physiotherapists who are all well qualified and experienced.

Their philosophy is to take the time to listen to their client so they can make a thorough assessment and determine the factors that contributed to their problem. They use a hands on technique to treat and work with you to achieve the outcomes you are looking for in the short and long term.Physiotherapy can help most problems involving muscles and joints. Burns Bay Medical Practice

Burns Bay Medical Centre is a fully accredited, traditional family GP Clinic. They have been servicing Lane Cove for over  35 years.

ITC has been a patient of this clinic for years. A friend of mine once told me that when you have a child you spend the first five years constantly at the doctors (she called her child little Petrie dishes). Burns Bay Medical practice is a family medical practice in that they will go out of their way to make sure you can see a doctor if you have a sick child. They get to know you and your entire family. There is also a pathology clinic located on the site, so it easy to arrange blood tests etc. The practice has 7 Doctors (including three female doctors). They also have a practice nurse.

They have recently introduced an online booking system which is simple and easy to use or you can download their app and book your appointment via the app. If you book via the app you will be reminded on the day of your appointment. You can of course still book by phone. They operate from Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 6.00 pm and on Saturday from 8.30 am to 11.30 am.

It is that time of the year when you need to start thinking about Flu shots, flu vaccines will be available in April. They also specialise in vaccinations for international travelers.

Josh Blake is the owner of Renegade Cycles and he is very active in the community. He was on the board of Lane Cove Alive and he now is a community representative on the Lane Cove Council Bike Advisory Committee. He lives locally and his beautiful wife Sarah also works locally (pop in and say hi to her at Zjoosh).

Bangkok Bar

Bangkok Bar is a Thai restaurant where you can eat in or take away. They offer an array of Stir Fry and Curries. ITC has been told that the Laska Noodle Soup is pretty good.

IGA X-press Agora

A convenience store, a fruit market, a coffee shop and a deli. They make great New York style sandwiches. ITC loves the Sopressa Salami and Char Grilled Vegetables Panini. You can even hire DVD’s via their Hoyts DVD kiosk dispenser.

Lane Cove Bowling Club

Just 25m down the road from the main group of shops is the Lane Cove Bowling Club – you can also grab a bite to eat here and a refreshing ale at club prices. You can also play Jack Attack – find out more about the club here.
