Welcome to our December 2018/January 2019 Lane Cove Business Round-Up. If a business opened, closed, rebranded, was refurbished or achieved a milestone we will tell you about it. We have previously reported that our local Businesses are struggling with the closure of the Rosenthal Avenue Car Park. Many retailers have told us that January 2019 was their worst January trading in years (one even said 10 years). Please support Local or Bye Bye Local. There is always parking in the Little Street Car Park.
Last year Lane Cove became a foodie destination with new restaurants/cafe opening up to complement our existing restaurants. There is now more outside dining, perfect for the summer trading months. All our restaurants are struggling at lunch time. Many of them have introduced lunch deals and “fast lunches”. If you work at or near Lane Cove and you are organising a business lunch, try one of our local restaurants. Park in Little Street Car Park – three hours free parking.
Opened
In late December Lil Lane Eatery opened its doors on Longueville Road. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Their weekend specials are gaining a reputation. Lil Lane Eatery made Sitchu Sydney list of Sydney’s top new cafes. They specifically mentioned the Butterbing cookie sandwiches – we second that. Lil Lane is situated near the Goodwill Op Shop Lane Cove and Belle Property Lane Cove. They now have tables available on the Longueville Road pavement for outdoor dining.
Red Cross Shop
A Red Cross Shop has opened on Longueville road next to the Commonwealth Bank. This is a “curated” opp shop. They have clothes, books and nik naks. Many of the gift items are brand new (donated by a business). They do not have any children’s clothes or toys. Their first sale was a designer brand for an amazing price.
Swimming Pool and Spa Warehouse
A new swimming pool and spa warehouse has opened on Mowbray Road. They supply pool and spa equipment across Australia from their warehouses in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Cairns, Gold Coast and Perth. They have all the leading brands.
Lush Grazers
Two Lane Cove locals have started Lush Grazers. They are all about cheese, red wine and long Sundays (or any day you have an event).
Sorted Home Concierge Services
Sorted Home Concierge Services ‘Sorted’ is a home concierge service based in Lane Cove. They aim to provide assistance with your every day to-do’s so you can enjoy your precious, and no doubt, limited spare time. They offer decluttering, personal home organisation, after school care, school drop off’s and pick up’s services plus much more.
Changes
Hazel McNamara is now with Raine and Horne Lane Cove. Many of you will recognise Hazel as she is the president of Lane Cove Rotary and works hard at many community events.
Re-Opened
La Provence reopened in late December 2018. La Provence had to close after sustaining massive rain damage during the 1:100 storms in November 2018. This happened only a few weeks after the new owner took over. Even with insurance you are always out-of-pocket when this happens. They are located next to BWS Lane Cove and The Burns Bay Bookery.
Closed
Snowberry is closed and the premises is in the process of being stripped of all the fixtures and fittings. It has been on the market for a considerable period of time.
Mowbray Road Convenience store has closed. The friendly owners will be missed. However you can understand their decision to closed after being robbed a few times.
Harlem and Stone Lane Cove closed just before Christmas.
Coming Soon
In Mach 2019 Fit Lane Cove will soon be launching Exhale by Fit Lane Cove. This will be a brand new Lifestyle Studio, a dedicated Yoga, Pilates, Meditation and Barre Studio for its members. A unique urban sanctuary where our members will experience over 8 different styles of classes to discover the complete Mind and Body experience.

Feet First Lane Cove are expanding and opening a new acupuncture business in the same arcade. They are located in Central Arcade.
Xtend Barre has lodged a development application for a studio in the old Massage Envy premises (located next to Anytime Fitness). There will be two studios.
The premises will also include a cyro clinic. According to their website CRYOCLINICS Australia delivers cryotherapy treatments to assist with:
- body shaping,
- fat cell reduction,
- sport and muscle related recovery,
- anti-aging, and
- injury and ailment management including the treatment of arthritis and inflammation.
Moved
Sydney Speech Clinic has moved to a purpose-built clinic in the Little Street Carpark building. It is easy to access with parking under the building. Catherine Lavery is the founder of Sydney Speech Clinic. She is a Lane Cove local and mum. Sydney Speech Clinic has expanded their business to include Tabitha, Mariam and Hannah.
Business We’ve Just Heard About
A Lane Cove local is behind Green Haven Landscapes. They have been in business for 2 years now. They specialise in lawn care, lawn mowing, hedging, weeding, irrigation systems and of course general garden needs.
