Anna Kerr is a founder and Principal Solicitor of the Feminist Legal Clinic, a new community legal service that works to advance the human rights of women and girls by supporting feminist groups, organisations and campaigns. She is also a member of Legal Aid’s Domestic Violence Practitioner Scheme and is regularly rostered to advise and represent women at local courts in Sydney. In 2016 Anna was appointed Co-Chair of the Women & Girls’ Rights Subcommittee of Australian Lawyers for Human Rights. She will discuss domestic violence, including how deficiencies in the family law and pay inequity can leave women trapped in abusive relationships and how laws designed to protect them are increasingly being used against them.
