Yogabowl is celebrating its 10th birthday on Sunday 11th October 2015 in style.
The celebration will begin at 9.30 am with Yoga on the Green (how cool does that sound)? Come along and enjoy relaxing Yoga on the Longueville Sporting Club’s luscious bowling green. Everybody is invited to attend. It does not matter if you’ve never practised Yoga before. Yogabowl’s motto is Do-Able Yoga for real people like you.
After your relaxing Yoga session, there will be drinks and nibbles on the Longueville Sporting Club’s new deck.
But wait, there is more!! A few months ago, Yogabowl’s founder Mitch Gibson, approached the Delvena Woman’s Refuge with the aim to provide Yoga classes to woman at the refuge. It is a well known fact that Yoga classes are a great way to de-stress. To assist Yogabowl to provide these services, Mitch is asking everybody who attends the party to make a $5.00 donation to the Refuge (you can give more if you like). There will also be a raffle. If you would like to know more about the refuge please read our blog here.
Mitch Gibson is a terrific supporter of Lane Cove community events. Whenever ITC has some fundraising to do, Mitch will always provide some Yoga classes as a prize.
We asked Mitch to give us some background on why she started Yogabowl in Lane Cove:
“I started Yogabowl in 2005 wanting to bring safe, do-able Yoga classes to real people like you.
My Fitness background brought with it an awareness of the benefits of moving the body. What I didn’t expect were the benefits to my emotional and mental health & wellbeing that come with Yoga.
Yogabowl started with a simple timetable of classes run only during school terms. As my student’s needs and my vision for the business evolved, we diversified adding different styles of Yoga classes throughout the whole year, short courses, Yoga Workshops and Weekend Yoga Retreats.
Some of our Yoga offerings include Beginner classes, Gentle classes, Teens classes (for high school-age boys and girls), Vinyasa (flow), Restorative, Meditation, Yin, and one-on-one Yoga – like having a Yoga personal trainer.
Come and try your first Yoga class FREE!
We also bring Yoga into your workplace with Corporate Yoga & Meditation – which is brilliant for stressed out desk sitters. If you don’t have time to come to Yoga, invite us to come to you!
It’s important to me that what we offer at Yogabowl is relevant, interesting, achievable and beneficial.
I’m one of the lucky ones who LOVES what I do, and to have the support of a fantastic teaching team.
None of us are exempt from the effects of stress and overwhelm. Life is what it is. We have to keep showing up.
Spending time on your Yoga mat is a wonderful example of self care & finding balance.
I’m thrilled to celebrate Yogabowl’s 10th Birthday in October 2015.
We’ve survived the “small business curse” and a GFC.
More importantly, we’ve formed a wonderful local community of like-minded souls who care – about their wellbeing, their community, and about making the world a better place.”

This is a sponsored blog (to keep Mr ITC happy). ITC prides itself on only recommending services they would use or supporting start-up business and community events (which are always free to list on ITC). ITC has attended Yogabowl classes (highly recommend the restorative yoga)
Thank you for supporting ITC.
