What is Local Flavours?

Local Flavours is a community initiative helping businesses and chefs sell their products during COVID-19.  Fuelled by a concern for the many local chefs that are out of work and hospitality outlets that have been forced to close their doors in response to government restrictions, Local Flavours helps businesses sell products through the Chargrill Charlie’s platform and keep their brand afloat during this time.

Ryan Sher, co-owner of Chargrill Charlie’s said, “We have been overwhelmed by the spirit of community and response to our Local Flavours initiative. We are committed to doing what we can to help the industry, and ensure that we come out the other side together, stronger than ever. We are thrilled to work with Anna and to sell her incredible triple choc cookie dough. She is all about having fun with food and that is exactly what we want to see – families enjoying time together in the kitchen”.

Anna Polyviou, said, “I am very excited for my collaboration with Chargrill Charlie’s as we both share the same passion for food and family. I really want family and friends to have fun during this time, and baking is the perfect way to spend time together at home”.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, Chargrill Charlie’s has been working hard to implement innovative new initiatives to ensure they can continue to serve their community and look after their staff and suppliers. It was one of the first restaurant businesses to introduce a contactless app service to reduce person-to-person contact by allowing customers to pre-order and pay for their takeaway meals.  They also close daily to implement further cleaning.
