You Must Try Shorties Bar & Dining New Food and Cocktail Menu

Shorties Bar & Dining has a new menu and a new head chef.

Their new head chef is Ricky Maing who has previously worked at Flying Fish, Sokyo and Kensington Street Social.

He has stamped his mark on new look dishes without straying too far away from what has made Shorties a local favourite in the first place.

Pork – Grilled pork chop, onion jus, burnt eggplant puree, shredded cabbage

The majority of elements that go onto the plate are all still made inhouse, and he utilises the best locally sourced fish, meat and vegetables.

Since COVID-19 hit Shorties saw a move towards customers ordering their food as the more traditional entrée and main and the new menu reflects that with their ‘Smalls’ and ‘Bigs’ sections, which can definitely still be shared but have been designed to offer a more substantial individual meal especially when you add a couple of their delicious new side dishes or a dessert.

Ravioli – Pumpkin & ricotta ravioli, burnt brown butter, roasted pepitas, pesto, parmesan

The guys have also listened to their loyal local customers with the menu boasting a total of 7 vegetarian options (1 vegan), 9 gluten-free dishes as well as delivering those hearty protein lead meals that will keep the carnivores happy!

If you’re just after a nibble at the bar while enjoying a glass of wine or beer, there is a snacks menu that has you covered, and new bar manager Max has created a revamped cocktail list that is also gathering rave reviews!

Steak – Chargrilled scotch fillet, cauliflower & kale puree, fermented eschalot, crispy kale, jus

Pavlova – Ricky’s ‘pavlova’ torched meringue, whipped cream, mixed berry compote.
