Welcome to our Lane Cove Weekly Review for 21 to 27 November 2016.
This week was a week of trying to reunite dogs, cats, chooks and parrots owners. We did a pretty good job of getting them back to their owners. We could not do this without the help of all the great Lane Cove residents who rescue dogs and then take them to the nearest vet.
One family had a big thank you to give to Oscar Morrisey who found their beloved family pet and took him to the Riverview Vet. However, the Vet could not contact the owner as their phone details on the microchip were out of date. Luckily, Oscar had posted about finding the dog on the ITC Facebook page. When the worried owner contacted ITC to say their dog was lost, we knew exactly where the dog was!!
Our Lane Cove vets do the most amazing work at trying to reunite pets with their owners but if your Microchip details are out of date then it is very hard to reunite your pet with you. PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE on microchipping and how to inform the council if you have moved (and they will update details).

The Gift of Giving
Thank you to Emma and Vince at Lime Leaf Fruit Market for putting in a toy collection box for North Shore Mums Smiles2U. ITC was busy this week collecting donations from Identity Direct (fabulous My School Years Memory Books) and age appropriate gifts from Crayons Imagine Creative Learning. ITC also purchased some toys from Crayons using some of the money we have raised from selling Lane Cove Tea Towels (pay it forward).
North Shore Mums Smiles2U provides gifts to children and mums in our local hospital – North Shore Public. We know how generous Lane Cove residents are so please pop down and put in unwrapped NEW toys for the kids in hospital this Christmas They need toys for the 0 to 4 age group. The box is there until the end of November (to allow time to sort and deliver) so please pop in asap.

Crime and Incident Report
A Roving Reporter told us that yet again there was another accident this week at Barwon Road and Centennial Avenue. A pedestrian was hit by a truck (allegedly the truck driver ran a red light). Please be careful at that intersection – the majority of the accidents reported to ITC seem to involve a PEDESTRIAN.
A roving reporter saw another three-car accident at Gore Hill Merge this week. ITC is still speaking to the RMS about making this merge safer. The RMS’s solution has been to trim the vegetation around the merger area (great but not enough).
Break, Enter and Steal – Lane Cove
Sometime between 10:00am Sunday 13th November and 7:10am Tuesday November unknown persons gained entry to a number of storage units located in the underground car park of a residential unit block on Centennial Avenue, Lane Cove.
Access to the storage units was gained by way of a hole being cut in the cage wall and locks being forced, with property belonging to residents of the unit complex including a set of golf clubs and other personal items being stolen.
Police are asking that anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity at the stated location during the given times and date to please contact Chatswood Police on 9414 8499.
A special racing bike was stolen from 7 Johnston Crescent – anyone with information should contact the police. Remember to sign up for the National Bike Register.
