WAIG Women’s Discussion Group

Rowena Eddy will review the book, ‘Caroline Chisholm: An irresistible force’ by Sarah Goldman. At school we all learnt about Caroline Chisholm helping newly arrived and vulnerable female immigrants, but there was more to her. She was a committed activist and she battled entrenched government apathy towards new arrivals, and hostility to Indigenous and Chinese Australians. She also set up a school in India, and lectured on feminist topics.
