Mindfulness Workshop- Mastering Self Compassion

21 October 2017 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm

Saturday 21st October 11.30am with Neuroscientist Darius Rountree-Harrison

All too often, we think that being hard on ourselves somehow will make us stronger. In actuality being hard on yourself is creating an internal enemy, rather than an internal friend. Self-compassion offers the answer, showing us that being kind to yourself, helps support and make you stronger. Self-compassion or Metta is the third main mindfulness practice, with rich history of Vedic practices. Now recent neuroscience research is revolutionising how it can be applied and what not to do. Find out how to be your own best friend and overcome the most difficult situations life can deliver.

Presented by Neuroscientist, Darius Rountree-Harrison director at Neuro Resilience, practice manager MindSpace Westmead Hospital and EEG analyst at the NSW Service for the Rehabilitation and Treatment of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS). Practical applications of self-compassion covers techniques currently being applied with PTSD patients at Westmead Hospital and is suitable for everyone looking to improve mental habits and get more out of life. Members free, guests $35
